Eva Spence is the 20 year old lead singer of the hardcore band Rolo Tomassi.Born and raised in Sheffield, England Rolo Tomassi formed in 2005. The band started off performing in local pub and clubs. They released a three track demo CD under Eva's brother James' independent record label Mayday. They sold this demo cd at all their gigs.
Rolo Tomassi then signed to hardcore label Holy Roar Records and released a self titled EP.
In 2008 the band performed at the legendary Download festival and in 2009 they appeared in Rock Sound magazine, Eva graced the cover along with L.A punk band The Bronx.
Over the course of the next year the performed at SXSW festival in Austin Texas, Underage Festival and Sonisphere. They also performed with the likes of Faith No More, Alexisonfire and Janes Addiction.
They Currently have two studio albums which are Hysterics (released in September 2008) and Cosmology (Released in may 2010), from these albums and their success on the hardcore scene lead singer Eva Spence has made quite a name for herself.
She has a group on Facebook entitled "Eva Spence is the coolest woman in rock" (To visit the Facebook group click on the link bellow).
I think she holds the flag for women in the hardcore scene at the moment. She may be small but she can scream her lungs out with the best of them.
