7.Samantha Maloney

Samantha Maloney is one of the most iconic female drummers out there today. She was born on December the 11th 1975 and was given her first drum kit at the tender age of five years old.

At the age of fourteen after already playing drums for nine years Samantha enrolled at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City. She studied percussion here for the next three years.

At sixteen Samantha joined the band Shift, however at the same time she was playing for her high school basketball team. Maloney discovered she was extremely good at basketball and considered a change in career. Thankfully she decided to stick with drumming and eventually Shift was signed to Columbia Records and toured the USA.

Samantha has been associated with many hugely successfull bands such as Motley Crue and Eagles of Death Metal. However she is no doubt best known as the drummer from Courtney Loves band Hole. At only 22 Maloney was the drummer in one of the biggest Female rock/grunge bands in the world. She toured the States, the U.K, Australia and Japan selling out arenas and appearing on Mgazines and Televison shows.

Samantha is no doubt one of the most famous Female drummers in the world. Her ballsy personality and amazing talent earns her a place in my top ten women in rock.

Check out Samantha's Facebook age bellow, also watch her rock out on the drums with Eagles of Death Metal in the video bellow.
