8. Charlotte Cooper



Charlotte Cooper is the 24 year old Bassist from the hugely successful band The Subways.

The Subways formed when charlotte met Josh and billy and began a childhood romance with Billy. The two were engaged at a gig in 2005.

The Band started off buy playing covers of Nirvana and punk songs and called themselves Mustardseed. The then began t play Local venues such as The Square in Harlow Essex and changed their name to Platypus. They recorded a live CD at The Square which they then sold at all their gigs.

They began to record many more demo EP's and brought their own home recording system and eventually had their own website (The Subways website)

In 2004 they won the chance to play at Glastonbury festival and their career's took off from there. They signed to City Pavement & Infectious Records in late 2004 and in july 0f 2005 they released their first studio album Young For Eternity.

Their second studio album All or Nothing was then released in June 2008 under Warner Bros. Records.

Although the band have no been hugely successful in the main stream market they have a vast cult following, may of their songs such as "Rock&Roll queen" have been used on Television shows and adverts.

Charlotte herself has also gained quite a following. She is a roll model for all young female musicians and also has a appreciation society on Facebook.



Like many women in rock Charlotte may be small but she knows how to work a crowd. Check out The Subways live performance at Reading Festival 2006 in the video bellow and leave me your comments.
